Hi, I'm a Mac...

...and TRANSFORMERS: ALLIANCE and TRANSFORMERS: DEFIANCE are kicking ass on the iTunes store! Yeah, yeah, it's all because of the new movie, but what's most surprising is that people seem to enjoy the format. Could this be a new door opening to comics as we know them? Who knows, but in the meantime, I'll just enjoy the stories doing well for as long as I can. Major kudos to the teams on these books (and a special shout out to Gilberto Lazcano—the guy at IDW who's been piecing these books together), without them it just isn't possible. Plus, all that delicious artwork transfers over so well! We'll just have to watch the overlapping panels in the future.

In somewhat related news, Starscream returns! Well, kind of. Just found out today that TRANSFORMERS: THE REIGN OF STARSCREAM is going back to press. I'm seriously stoked about that because not only is the first thing I ever wrote professionally, but it's also my favorite story. I just love that guy and have some great memories of working on that. Heh, there's some not -so-great ones, too, but we'll save those.

Matter of fact, I was toying around with the idea of getting another tattoo and having it be Starscream (movie version), but then the idea of some of his tattoos from the new movie instead was kicked around. What do you think?

Whoo, pretty awesome. :D I'm glad to see so many folks are buying up the series, as they both were great.

I also hope that if these do well it means we'll get TF comics in a format usable on a regular PC, too, for those of us not on the Apple bandwagon.

I have to admit that it'd be nice to be able to keep up with issues digitally and cheaper as they come out, so I can then buy the trades for storage purposes later.

Plus it's so much handier for reference... I'm constantly flipping through my TF comics already for fanfic, roleplaying, wiki work, etc. in addition to just reading them.

Gratz on Starscream! Plus Alliance and Defiance as well. :D I kinda prefer having the actual trades on hand than on computer, even though the added advantage on the com is being able to zoom in/out on details. Ah well, trade off.

Chris,

This is a tad off-topic, but it regards the “Tales of the Fallen” series that you and Furman are writing.

The six issues spotlight Bumblebee, Sideswipe, Jetfire, The Fallen, Arcee, and Ravage. I know it’s too late to have Jolt (the blue Autobot from the movie) as one of the main spotlights, but could you fit him in somewhere? He doesn’t speak a word in the whole movie, so giving the fans a sense of his personality, or a little bit of his backstory, would be greatly appreciated. Maybe tie it to one of the Autobot issues with a few panels.

Also, the Arcee spotlight… don’t forget, the three of them can combine! ;)

Hey William,

As it stands, Jolt will have a bit of a role in the Arcee story, but that could all change as the story hasn't been approved by Hasbro yet. But in addition to Jolt, there might be another character that (hopefully) people will be talking about.

I'll try to do what I can with a backstory, too.

-Chris

Hey Chris, I noticed you said that Jolt might have a role to play in the Arcee issue. What's the status of that? Did Hasbro give you the go-ahead?
